Broken window
What year ranger? I replaced one window on my sons Ranger (86) and one on a chevy S10. Went to the junk yard. I got the window with the rollars still on . It is a bit of a struggle to get the rollars into the channels and the window into the channels oon the door. Took me half the day on both vehicl...

painless wiring
My problems are . I am working on a 97 ranger. The "dock" for the computer is in the fire wall so the ford harness is too long. I am trying to use the ranger relays. The ranger relays are by the fuse box. The motor sport relays are built into the harness so I am removing redundant wiring a...

Painless wiring
I am trying to get the ford motorsports harness to fit. I met a fellow who has done three wheel 5.0 "cycles". He really likes painless 5.0 harness. Has any body used one? He likes the short harness because he puts the CPU under the seat.

red wires
After a lot of looking at the circuit diagrams I've decided that you can use the 2.3 red wire to power the 5.0 computer and engine monitors. The yellow wire still provides the power to the PCM.

Red wire for vehicle power
There are two red wires from pin 37 and pin 57 on the 5.0 computer I have. There is one red wire from connector 124 that goes to the engine harness on the 2.3 ranger. The ranger also has two red wires, pin 71 and 97 Can I hook up the two wires from pin 37 and 57 to the one red wire on the 2.3 system...

Remote Oil filter lines
I went to American Hose company here in Augusta GA and had the hose I got from Duffy crimp fitted with hydrolic fittings for about $40. (this included adapters). I thought this was very reasonable and the adapters and connectors seem to be a good fit. I used an adapter that fitted a 1 inch socket fo...

Sleeves for heat protection
The starter motor wire runs close to the headers. I got an insulation sleeve from Taylor. I slide the sleeve over the wires and used shrink wrap on one end to make it "look nice". I got to thinking, does this stuff work like a chimney? As it get warm it allows warm air to rise and sucks in...

computer and heat
I am planning on putting the computer where it was located on the 97 ranger, right upper side (passenger) in the engine bay. Would heat from the engine be a problem?

Wiring
Thanks. I am struggling with the wiring. My biggest fear is that I'll use the wrong size wire or hook something up backwards and watch the truck go up in a hugh fireball of electrical smoke and flames, or hit the igniton switch and nothing! I would be sitting there trying to figure where to start. :...

AC wiring and fuel pump questions
None of the connectors to the AC on my harness fit the ranger AC system. I was planning on leaving the AC as is and running a wire to the AC clutch pressure switch (pin # 10 on the 5.0 computer) from the AC switch in the dash or do I even need to do this? Can I just ignore pin 10? I have sort of the...

Just a little general b*tching. I figured I would take the main engine harnes off the 97 2.3 ranger and splice the approriate wires on the mustang harness and knock out a lot of the wirng quickly. I just don't understand how the gauge in the two systems is so differant. The mustang harness is 8 gaug...

Heres my problem. I am splicing the C124 (main harness to Engine and computer) connector on a 97 2.3 ford ranger wiring into the connectors on the 93 mustang harness connetor #39 that is green. There is a gray /yellow stripe wire for the O2 sensor that powers the O2 sensors on the mustang and is the...
