Alright, you guys got me all excited to get the HID conversion started. As soon as I finish getting the battery into the bed with good, solid wiring I will work on getting the HID lights in.
BOY they are far more reasonably priced than what I would have imagined.

Re: HID conversion
Wow for $60... I was imagining this conversion to be something like $500.
High beams... I don't think that I have ever turned them on in the eight years that I have owned and daily driven the truck. Might have something to do with my vision, or perhaps I just don't ever "need" them.

Re: HID conversion
Can you guys specify WHAT you bought for your truck? I would like to try these as well but don't want to be mistaken and buy some crap that is really junk.

HID conversion
Hi Everyone, Has anyone here tried to do a HID conversion to their truck? After driving other cars with HID lighting, my truck seems to be lacking quite a bit in the visibility department. I ever have new head lamp lenses and lights, but nothing compares to the HID setups. Anyone have some success d...

Re: Transmission Cooler Line Example
I am hoping that this is the last set that I will ever have to buy. I keep my cooler under the bed too, and round trip the cooling hoses length is something like 22'. GOOD news is that the trans temp never touches 170 F, and usually runs in the low 100s. Would probably do less than that if the hot e...

Re: Transmission Cooler Line Example
YES, I am looking for something that is bone dry and very reliable, it looks like this will do the job. Going to be vibration friendly, heat friendly, flexible friendly, etc.

Transmission Cooler Line Example
Hi Everyone, After dealing with engine swap mandated home made cooler lines consisting of cut off brake line, flared and with a piece of hose clamped over the end I finally stumbled across a good solution that I thought I would like to share with you guys. I had these made at the local Hydraulic sho...

Re: Intercooler on a Ranger V8
Hey Malcolm, Over here in wine country, we have had TWO days above 90 F. That's it for 2010. That's all. Most days over here, the weather has been cloudy and overcast until noon, then some sun to about 4, and then the clouds have come back again. Really dismal. We have been lucky to break 70 F most ...

Re: Intercooler on a Ranger V8
OK. Got out the burn 1 and the EEC from the truck today. Been a long time since I had been in there. Probably almost two years. WOW there have been some changed in B.E. Anyways, I re-enabled the EGR system, and then multiplied the stock cell values for the EGR tables by 1.25 for both Sea level and A...

Re: Intercooler on a Ranger V8
Hi Chris, I hear you, I hear you on the Q.H. I remember when they came out. Heck, I would be happy if I could just have my 2nd TwEECer back. Got stolen the night after I did a show and tell for the local Mustang guys. What a shame... Wish I could have that back. Can't help but suspect that it was &q...

Re: Intercooler on a Ranger V8
Hey Chris, Yes, I have a 180 degree temp stat in the truck right now. Have had it for the past seven years. Thought that this was important as the radiator in the truck has always been a compromise radiator anyway. I have tinkered with the EGR in the past, but at the moment I believe that the EEC is...

Intercooler on a Ranger V8
Hi Everyone, Has anyone here ever tried to run an intercooler on their V8 powered ranger? Right now I am trying to help combat pinging, as well as tinkering around with some turbo ideas. My first step would be to lower the compression, but I could start by making my own cold air intake with an all a...

Re: Ranger Steering Questions / Problem?
I checked this morning on the situation before I went to work. I do have the Pittman arm on upside down. The lettering is facing up; it needs to be facing towards the ground. I can change that tonight after work. I went by the local wrecking yard. They won't take off the Pittman arms from the steeri...

Re: Ranger Steering Questions / Problem?
Hummm... The more you talk about this, the more that I think that I have the wrong pitman arm on the truck. I think I will pull down the drag link tonight, measure the diameter of the stud and then compare this to the pitman arm that I do have. I have a suspicion that the wrecking yard gave me a ful...

Re: Ranger Steering Questions / Problem?
Hi V8 Ranger et al, YES. All of my steering play is at the joint of the Drag Link to the Pitman Arm. I can wiggle the steering wheel about 3-4" either side of center meanwhile the stud at the end of the drag link where the Pitman arm meets the drag link has all of the slop in the world. A few y...
