Your description of BE's Trendmap sounds much like Ford's IDS Scantool that I'm accustomed to. This could be very helpful.
I'll play around with the dashboard view to see if I can get something I like. If not, I'll let you know. Thanks.

Re: DIY EEC tuning, really???
Well, the hardest thing is when it comes to datalogging. I'm no longer at the Ford dealership so I no longer have access to the Ford scantool. I've been using my Innovate wideband controller for datalogging, which works ok at best. Trouble is you can only view a few parameters at a time. Then I have...

Re: DIY EEC tuning, really???
Well, after 4 years of playing with SCT I've gotta say, y'all were right. I'm not at all satisfied. I just ordered the Quarterhorse and BE with EECanalyzer. Just got tired of having to reflash every time I want to make the slightest change. I even started keeping a note pad in the truck with me so I...

Re: Radiator Question
If I remember correctly, The dual core radiator was only on the 4.0L with either 4x4 or Super cooling/towing package.cgrey8 wrote:The Ranger came in a 2-core radiator option for 4x4 automatics. I don't know for sure if it was limited to only the 4.0L or not.

Re: how much boost??
How much boost can I safely do on the stock internals of my 1990 5.0L in my Ranger?? Do you think it will handle 12 to 14psi without being a bomb?? It will handle 1psi below is failure point. That failure point is truly hard to say. I've seen stock 302s running all day on 15psi boost using water/me...

Re: Repairing an old tire plug
Can I or should I A) try to yank it out and re-plug it B)try to plug it next to the old one C) have it patched (which costs money guaranteed, how much idk)? Attempting to replug a tire is never a good idea. You may end up in a situation where either or both plugs will blow into the tire causing an ...

Re: Help with build list (v8 pulleys + accessories)
Ya I think it's just a question of building this from scratch. I'm not really wanting to hack/re-use a factory harness. It might come back to bite me later but I want this to be a super clean install with minimal wiring. The points distributor is only a one wire connection from the factory. All it ...

Re: Help with build list (v8 pulleys + accessories)
If this is going to be a mostly street engine, that set up really unnecessary. The stock ford 289 single points distributor is plenty adequate up to 7,000rpm. Above that, you will start to get point float where the points will ride on the high spots and never fully close. If you're going above 7,000...

Re: Help with build list (v8 pulleys + accessories)
For carb'd ignition system, I'd go with fords Duraspark II system. Wiring is very simple. The distributor has the position sensor internal so there's less wiring involved. Just be sure to keep the Duraspark module away from heat. Or, if your going the MSD route, a simple points distributor works bea...

Re: My low boost dyno results
That's going to be a 10 grand repair easily. Labor, forged rods, pistons, machine work etc. I personally rebuilt my 4.6 myself, I know what's involved. He will be paying someone. Those engines are fairly complicated to build. Everything must be done exactly to specs, there is no wiggle room. Thing ...

That's some stout numbers! These new modular motors are just crazy! I've worked on quite a few Mustang GTs and the Shelby GT500s. They always impress me!

Well as I said, I can't send you a copy of the DVD. I can and will, however, send you all the diagrams that you could ever need for your '96. May be a day or so, but I will get them to you.

Well, I can't copy the DVD because yot have to have a program to read it. I do not have access to the program to copy it, I only have the program on my computer. I can, however, send you the diagrams that you need. Just let me know which ones you need.
