i just bought a 92 4.0 ranger and the tach isnt working right a soon as you start it the tach reads 3k it works but it is off about 2200 rpm im not sure what drives it or what wire to check the truck runs fine any help would be great

i will sell just the truck motor mounts and headers real cheap

sounds like you didnt get the torque converter in all the way cant think of any other way it would have bent

if you want to flush it a little bit just put the suction side of your trans cooler line in a jug of clean mercon v and let it purge out the return line that way you will only waste a quart or two and it will clean out your cooler lines in the process

i dug into a little deeper the big blk/orn goes to the bat side of solinoid the yellow goes to a constant hot and the green goes to a acc that comes on with the key switch

the roller cam came out in the 85 mustang using the 351w firing order i think the jump to 225 hp was 89 to 93
