As per above post, you should'nt have any problem. Differences came in before Ford changed the motor balance from 28 to 50 oz in 82(?) auto and manuals. What truck are you looking to put that 2000 motor into? I've learned that there are a lot of differences between the '98-2000' motors and the earli...

Chris, all I can say is that with my first 2000 (2x4), ext. cab, manual trans with the 3.55 LS from Ford just didn't have the same traction as my same exact truck only in 4x4 (auto) with the PowerTrax rear end in it. Maybe the different rear spring rating had something to do with it but I'm happy wi...

PowerTrax rear end. I love mine, still with the 4.0 but find I don't need it in 4x4 as much. You do have learn how to take corners without full power on. I have some tricks I would reccomend to the makers to make it a little simpler to install. It's not all hard though. Don't do it when it's 90 deg ...

Ken, Welcome aboard! Your answer about shifting engine/trans to the right makes since even in the older cars (say the '60's) that started this trend. Transmission linkage (T-10 and toploaders) all had their external linkage towards the driver and would have probably ended up under his knee if not sh...

The old school of thought was to intentionaly add another angle into the driveline to further eliminate the harmarnic's in the power transfer to the rear end. It gets into first phase and second phase harmonics from what I remember. I was indeed done on purporse. Engineers have gotten better on solv...

L/S vs Open rear ends
Chris, No problem in swaping one for the other, be it in a Ranger, Mustang or an Explorer. Same axle parts, just change the center carrier parts. Stranger asked a couple of years ago why Ford would have some rear ends off-set and others centered. No answer ever came up. Ford has used the off-set rea...

Chris, The best price I have seen for the T-56 w/bell housing is $1955. New Cobra spec T-5 for $1099 and uses all the standard Mustang bellhousing/clutch parts. You really shouldn't need a 6-speed if you are still building a torque motor. If you are willing to settle for the rear shifter location, I...

Engine Stand
Chris,
Never seen a motor stand rated at 2 ton's, it ought be able to hold a Cummins desisel with no problem. I've got a stand rated at 750 lbs and the complete motor only sags 3/4" at the oil pan rail front to back. What's up with that?

EFI Dyno tests
I've got 14-15 different dyno tests done on 5.0 motors (EFI) with all kinds of differnent combonations of modification, all the way from a bone stock to a 427ci w/425hp. Can get the carb and SC tests later if anyone wants them. Give me a jingle if you would like them in jpeg format.
