Drivers wheel well, mostly. It is inside the wheelwell, but at the very front right behind the bumper. I had to trim the plastic fender liner for the bottom couple of inches to stick out. Well protected, but the oil drains out very cleanly. I did cut off the charcoal canister and raised it several i...

Spal has 2 different versions of there fans. Standard and high performance. The high performance are the good ones. If you build a shroud so the hot air can't recirculate through the core. Possibly with flaps to let air blow through at highway speeds, you could be OK If you just mount the 2 fans to ...

As I have seen many times before. Solid tranny mounts break trannys. Something has to give and usually the transmission case is not strong enough to keep the frame from flexing.

I ended up in a similar situation where the wiring harness I bought was from a Ford V8, but didn't appear to be from a Mustang. The colors of the wires were all different and the locations of the connections and what was on those connections didn't match what my Mustang wiring diagrams said. So wha...

Find a Ranger in ajunkyard that has power steering that is the same year or interchange year as yours. Remove the power steering box. Install that power steering box in place of you...

I run the Baumann controller and its pretty cool been able to control both up and down **** points for every gear. Plus you can save two sets and store them in two tables and toggle between them on the fly at any time with a toggle switch on the dash. On the other hand you could run a 94/95 Mustang...

There is a year or two in the late 70's or early 80's that has the duel sump pans but before the blocks were drilled for a dipstick. That would be your junkyard find. Plan B would be an aftermarket pan with a dipstick provision. I got mine from Kevco.when you set the engie up you will need to set th...

When you remove the old engine, just seperate the sender wires from the old harness. Then adapt to the new harness. All the adapting/splicing should be under the hood. If you are splicing under the dash you are doing it the hard way.

I'd heard the SBFs couldn't take knock sensors due to noisy valvetrain causing false positive signals. OHC motors are better candidates for knock sensors (i.e. OHC 2.3L turbo motors). Econoline vans have knock sensors. 302 and 351 Small block Chevys have knock sensors and the valvetrain is nearly i...

Cylinder balance test will show a weak hole. But won't tell you if it is due to fuel or spark. A bad plug or wire can also cause a failed cylinder balance test. If you want to find it, chase parts. Swap injectors to a known good cylinder. See if the miss follows the injector. Then swap plug wires. S...

Look at where it is at. There is no pressureized oil there. But it is directly between 2 coolant core plugs. OK, a little more fun. Knock sensors listen for knock. Water happens to be a great conductor of that sound. So sticking the knock sensor in the cooling system lets it listen to the whole engi...

Eletricity need to flow through a complete path. Bad ground is not a complete path so there will be no flow. There will be potential (voltage) but not flow (amps). You need potential and flow (volts x amps) for something to happen (work=watts=volts x amps). Ground is a generic way of completing the ...

If you are refering to the 5.0 then I believe that the double roller timing chain was standard on those engines.
