Re: To pull and sell or not
One for a fact is a 2000 2wd. The other if I remember right is 99, and I think it is awd, if I remember the v8 door emblem sticker. cgrey, You are a wealth of info. Yeah after yanking that one motor out of the 97 (with a trans that would seperate until I got it all out), I'm done pulling motors ther...

To pull and sell or not
To pull and sell or not to pull and sell, that is the question. At a local junk yard, there are two v8 explorers that still have the whole front dress, brackets, fan, water pump and timing chain cover. I can get all this pretty cheap, just wondering it I should even mess with going and pulling this ...

Re: L&L Mounts bad or just used?
I remember them having lifetime warranty as well. Maybe they were having issues, and it was costing them big. But they should honor those of us that bought them new with a lifetime warranty. Oh well, at least you didn't have to spend $200 to get new ones. I'll be keeping an eye on mine.

Re: Explorer v8 accessory drive
Well, Friday was the big day, and thankfully, everything was still there. Once we got moving, the cold wasn't to bad, especially once the sun hit us. As far as turning nuts and bolts, there wasn't a problem that a little PVC cheater bar couldn't fix. And that is where the perfect world ended, time t...

Re: Explorer v8 accessory drive
Thanks again for the info, now I just got to go out there, freeze my butt off, bust my knuckles, and believe this is a perfect world and everything will come off with ease, lol.

Re: Explorer v8 accessory drive
Thanks guys, and yes I knew about the expy balancer, thats why I was wanting to make sure it worked with a 50oz flywheel.
I didn't get the PM 87, but I sent you one, I think. Me and my brother are thinking of going down to do some wrench turning on it tomorrow or saturday.

Re: Explorer v8 accessory drive
Thanks for the info, and the extra info for future use. Depending on if I find me a better paying job (work for the state of Tennessee, and they pay engineers 1.5 to 2 times less), I may rebuild that explorer motor if I get it, and was thinking of stroking (it will have to be alot of extra pay). Tor...

Explorer v8 accessory drive
Howdy guys, long time no typie, lol. Since I am basicly finally done building our house, I can go back to focusing on other things, like my 5.0 Bronco II. First off, I have had a vaccum leak for a while, and had an explorer intake sitting around, and a younger brother on winter break from college wi...

Oil Lab
Well I changed the oil in my wife's car last week. I was going to send it off to one of those labs to see if it broke down. What was that website?

Gray oil
My brother-in-law changed the oil in his 71 chevelle 454 the other day and the oil was gray. Not a little gray, or gray looking, but gray as a naval ship. He put aluminum heads on it and then put valvoline max life synthetic blend int it. This oil has only 800 miles on it and is 6 months old and he ...

My B2 has a cold
The patient: 84 B2, 89 A9P cpu and harness, 92 5.0 HO, 5spd Syptoms: Idle was rather high Friday (no tach put assume 1500 to 2000) then would die down after about 10 to 15 seconds, but would still idle above 1000. Today the a/c pressure relief valve blew and the cap on the p/s pump came slightly off...

My fans are from a local performance shop that claimed they pushed 1300 cfm each. They are the curved blade design, I am begining to second guess them. They just said they get it from a manufactorer but never gave me a name. Probably a big mistake on my part. I will see if removing the insulation wi...

Cooling issue
Ok, I finally got freon in my a/c. Before that, it ran fine right between the O and R in NORM (N is at the top near Hot and M is at the bottom near Cold). Well it would run fine with the hood open just idleing, but when I close the hood it gets up to the N (all this is with a/c on). If I turn it off...
