i originally put my 302 and c-4 in the truck in 1994 when i graduated high school, im now on my third motor which is the 347 and have an aod, with 3.90 rear gears, IF I CAN KEEP MY FOOT OUT OF IT, i can get roughly 16 miles to the gallon in overdrive at 70 mph.

keep your displacement small, your port volume small, your cam small, and put a blower or turbo on it so you get the horsepower you want and the mileage if you keep your foot out of it. thats the problem with building a more efficient naturally asperated engine, it becomes more efficient at processi...

there are four variables that mainly affectfuel economy. vehicle weight and drag, engine displacement, camshaft, transmission high gear and rear ratio. not to mention the converter if automatic.

I'm sorry, igave u misimformation 83-88 beams were forged steel. 89-94 arms were cast iron. 95-97 were the stamped steel arms. iguess the reason they went to stampings was to reduce the weight of the vehicle to make mileage requirements by the government.
