Re: Converting from VSS ddto cable spedo
Thanks Teddy, that sure makes it easier and cheaper. Never had to chance to play around with much of the 70-90 Ford stuff. Found this on Ebay that sounds like it would work. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOTORCRAFT-DY-588-Acceleration-Sensor-/291041372482?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&...

Converting from VSS ddto cable spedo
Trying to help some one going from a '96' 4R70 trans and Explorer ECU to his '89' B11. He'd like to retain the existing cable drive. I know a lot of places sell convertors to go the other way but can't find what he would need. Any ideas or ways around the problem?

Re: Trying to sort out the confusion
Not sure what you mean by using a F150 clutch lever, the one that works is the '82-93' Mustang one. The two are completely different designs. The 280Z is the slave of choice, don't know how Chris got that other one to work. What are you using now?

Yep, that's the same problem someone else ran into. The computers from '99-2001' are all the same, maybe the '98' also will work.

Re: Option for manual trans?
Myself would rather stay with a std. T-5 upgrade than the T-56. Even if cost was equal, most T-56's still have the .62 OD ratio and not that hugh of a torque rating. The others have the double OD with .5 as the final gear, so unless you are pushing over 500 rwhp in a sleak car, never be able to see ...

Another one that loves them seats, almost look like the ones Teddyzee has. My Mustang has those big bolsters on the side and really like them.

My low boost dyno results
Okay, 5.0 with 5-6 lbs but the new DOHC Mustang motor. Stock Roush tune and everything else, showroom stock. Got 513 RWHP at 6500 rpm. My old '07' 4.6 w/15 lbs got 503 RWHP. Malcom can tell you these new motors are unreal with the power they can put out. Wish it was easy and cheap to put in a Ranger...

Re: 98 ranger 5.0 swap
Dave I lifted the whole motor bout 3/4 of an inch to gain clearance for oil Pan the stepped plate is passenger side it can only go one way to work and hit the motor mount I'd have to go look at mine to remember which way that is. That's about what I expected. I seem to have gotten confused doing th...

Re: 98 ranger 5.0 swap
Got a question on the motor mounts you used, Strada Shop correct? How much did you have to raise the passenger side for clearance? I think there might have been a mistake (mine) converting Brian B's original design to what Strada used. I've tried contacting him with no sucess. Think a flat plate and...

Re: A piece of V8 Ranger History
Funny thing about that '98' he built with the blown Cobra motor is that he sold it (lives in Ohio) and it showed up three blocks from work (central Wis) for sale couple years later, all beat to pieces. Haven't looked at his later editions to see how he covers the Explorer motor and wiring.

Re: A piece of V8 Ranger History
That's the Harwood manual, not sure what year. He offers it in download editions now for $25. Not sure what year but I did help him at one time on transmissions and he included those pictures. Not a bad bood for an introduction but so much more in depth help now on the net.
