My 85

Post by Maxstew1002 »

Finally got some pics in photobucket of my truck. 1985 Ford Ranger, 97 Explorer engine, diamond cut projector headlights, and tube grill. Let me know what you think.

Nice. How does it drive? Any other mods other than the obvious Carb/Dizzy conversions?

Is there nobody that makes a nice aftermarket or true HID replacement for the 89-92 Rangers? It seems the older and newer Rangers all have headlight options, but 89-92 doesn't.

Drives great, handles like a dream. Add front and rear sway bars and also lowered it 3/5.

Engine Performance:
Stock bottom end rotationally balanced
E303 Cam
GT40P Heads
Ford Racing Explorer Shorties
Flowmaster Dual in Dual out 40 Series
I also just realized that first picture is a little old. I now have a Mallory HEI distributor and an RPM Performer Intake.

Working on taking it to the local track and get a time on it, if the water ever stop coming up. Would really like to take it to St. Louis for the World Street Challenge this year.

Don't have any pictures of the headers at the moment. Give me some time and I will get some and post them.

The tube grill I got out of the LMC magazine. Don't remember how much I paid though. Headlights, if you like, I got off ebay for like 20 bucks.
