interchangeable grills?

Post by Warpig Racing »

Anyone know if you can interchange a 88 with a 92? I assume it will if you get teh headlights and turn signal stuff to go with the 92 grill.

Fenders and hood are different also. I believe the radiator support is different also just not 100% sure on it or not. You basically need the whole front clip to swap.

This is what I did to my 86. Just had to cut out the center section and put this one in. Of coarse the new grill was made to fit my 86.

If you change all the bolt on front sheetmetal it will interchange. There is one panel on the front that is different that is not easy to change, the cowl. But it is not really needing to be changed if you change the front clip. Expect to need some wire splicing to get the headlights and marker lights to work as the sockets are different. It can be swapped, just take a few more parts then just a grill.

thanks for the info. I like the looks of the 92 better than my 88. I found all the stuff to swap at local salvage yard for cheap and if it was a simple swap, i would do it. Im lazy and have too much other stuff to get done, so i will pass for now.

Thanks for the replies.
