As if building my truck ain't enough but now my little bro wants his done too. Problem I'm having is he has an 86 and he wants a/c and p/s. I don't know what front brackets to use because his a/c compressor is different than the explorer compressor that I'm using for my 1990. What are you 1st gen guys using for your front dress? Is there any other difference from the 1st gen to the 2nd gen that I need to know about?
Thanks,
Chris

On the boys 85 we used 97 Explorer front acc. stuff. Works great, you have to have custom A/C lines made other than that it's basic stuff.

Explorer compressor to match the Explorer front dress. custom lines. Doc's Blocks has adaptors to convert the Explorer compressor to standard screw on hoses.

Really? That would be nice. I could've plumbed the thing myself if I had the ability to use standar hoses with some -an fittings or something like that. I'm assuming there's also a company that converts Ford Spring-Lock connections to -an fittings as well??
Unfortunately it probably would've cost me more to do it myself than to have the hose made custom.

Thanks for all the info guys. I found the docs block website and that's what we are gonna use with the explorer front dress.
