Lower I beam Cracked

Post by 87sc302 »

Image

Driver side of truck seemed lower so I bought new springs and while under the truck noticed this crack.
Scared me when I saw it! This is with front on jack stands so the crack should be worse when on ground.

Truck has never be wrecked or pot-holed.

These were, I believe, trailmaster lowering beams which they no longer make. Ordered DJM beams same day just have not had time to install. If anyone is running this type of Lowering beams be sure and inspect them.

I sure am glad I found it before complete failure!
I am a blessed man!

I say your right .....Blessed would be the word I would use. We used DJM on the boys truck and we have been real happy with them.

Stock ibeams are usually inches thick it seems. That piece above looks like stamped steel. Scary stuff.
