Well going to be moving
As you may recall I've mentioned my job was nearing the end since they decided to outsource our jobs. Good news is that I found a new job but looks like I'll be moving north, also will be stuck in the city. Not looking forward to that. Won't be getting to work on my car near as much or at all :S. Not sure what I'm going to do on that front. Girlfriend wants to stay in the area as her Dad left her mom recently and my Dad isn't in the best of health either. Hopefully this all works out and isn't a first step in a wrong direction.

Best of luck with all that, sounds like a complicated situation. You got to follow the $ so hope your girlfriend understands and cares enough to help make it all work out

Well Soul, it looks like you and I are in similar boats. Work dried up at the shop I was at so I went on the hunt and found something better. Now I'm in the process of selling everything not necessary, Harley included. Also, had to put my truck on hold until we move. Just no time to work on it right now.
Hope everything works out for you and your girlfriend. Good luck with the move.

Re: Well going to be moving
Yep feel for you both! At least you both have found a job, hard to find some places. Company relocated me 25 years ago up here to where I had no friends and know nothing about other than it was a nice place to vacation. Kind of a culture shock moving from a town of 150,000 to a county under 50,000. Whole different attitude, laid back and friendly people. Company relocated again 15 years ago to CO and really wanted me to go. I told them I's rather stay here without a job than move out there. Two years later, had over ten of them that moved come back to the area.

Gonna be moving to O'Fallon IL. Its not terribly far but enough that it puts a damper on alot of things. Its an 8k a year raise so not to worried about living expenses, just have about 2 weeks to find a place to live up there.

Well the Lafayette, La location isn't where I'm living at now. That's where I'm working at right now. We are actually living in Iowa, La(about 20 minutes east of Lake Charles) and are both commuting to Lafayette. At about 140 miles round trip, we are desperately trying to sell our house to buy something closer. We are looking in the Opelousas, La area. That's just north of Lafayette. It's a bit of a difficult situation because we had no warning and were completely unprepared for this. Oh well, life goes on. Like Soul, I'm also making more money so that helps

Re: Well going to be moving
Well from what I've seen, there are a lot of Ranger lovers in that area on different sites. One from Opelousas, La is well know at TRS and RPS There was a Brian347 down there. DoorGunner would be close, he stuck a '36-37' Ford truck kit body on a Ranger frame. Good luck with the move, buyers market but it took me 11 months to sell mine only after I really dropped the price. What field do you work in? Lots of oil and gas, one of our satilite companys is down there.

Re: Well going to be moving
I'm a diesel tech at the Ford dealership in Lafayette. Most of our diesel customers are from the oil field. Since the moratorium our work here has come to a crawl. Even though the moratorium has been lifted they are still not allowing deep water drilling. Kinda sucks because they just don't see how much stuff like that affects the entire economy. Ugh ok, I'm done ranting now. Even with all this I'm still making more money than I was at the last shop.Dave wrote: What field do you work in? I didn't know anybody around Lafayette/Opelousas was into rangers. That's pretty cool. I guess I need to look at everybodys location more.
