Where to get older vehicle towing specs?

Where can I find the original manufacture towing specs for a 94 Ranger and a 2000 v8 Explorer?

The Ranger would have been a 4x4 Ext. cab 4.0 V6. Explorer been the AWD v8 model.

Found a list last month that was Ranger year specifid but can't find it any more (right now). This would be close.

wow so the v6 explorer was rated to tow 2000 lbs more than a v6 ranger?

Depends a lot on which trans and I would bet on the weght distrubution of the towing vechical.
Heres a link to the ratings of a '02' Ranger showing the differences between the different transmissions and gear ratios.

As you probably gathered from the post I was just trying to figure out what I can safely tow behind my blue truck. I realize I may have more engine than what is necessarily safe to tow so that's why I was wanting to check all the specs.

The trailer type plays a role in this number as well. A light load with a heavy tongue weight on a trailer without brakes is more dangerous than a heaver load on a trailer with trailer brakes and weight distributed over the trailer axles.

But I see what you are getting at.
