The rear main seal is really large in diameter and the service manual shows a special tool to install it that I couldn't find at any of my local auto parts stores or tool stores. So I made my own installer tool from a board of wood :)

I then froze the rear main seal in the freezer for about 4 hours and tapped that sucker in with a bit of oil.

For those that don't know the 03/04 Cobra motors have two serpentine belts. One in front of the other. The outer belt runs the blower and alternator only. The inner belt is for everything else. In the pic below the a/c compressor (left of pic) and power steering (right of pic) are missing as they are still in the car hooked up. That's what the two loops in the belt are for.

OK now I've added the additional idlers, brackets, etc. Notice the second belt tensioner, the additional lower pulley that screwed into the balancer (which was also a pulley for the inner belt). The outer belt for the blower is wider. 8 ribs instead of 6.

Motor is almost ready to go back in the car :)

Oh yeah installing that second outer lower pulley on the crank required torquing it down to 74 ft/lb (left hand thread). To do that I got some flat bar and drilled two holes in it and bolted it to the rear of the crank and let it lock up on the engine stand. Worked great.

Motor is in the car all hooked up ready to go. Tranny is waiting to go in, still have to wire up fuel pumps and get gas tank back in, wire up gauges and a few minor things. Only real thing I'm waiting on to arrive is the tuning device with the new tune. It's just a matter of time right now. If I can manage it hopefully this weekend I can fire it up.
