I'm not so much on the wiring. I fumble my way through that. But I'm probably not the go-to guy for specifics on wiring.

My strengths are more in the EEC Tuning area. I'll talk the ears (err eyes) off of whoever is interested in tuning their EEC. But I realize that level of sophistication isn't for everybody. There's a huge learning curve associated with being a DIY tuner and most people seem far more interested in just driving their vehicle, rather than tuning it. But for those that don't mind or find it interesting, it's so cool to be able to tweak a few things on the EEC then send that info down to the tuning board in the EEC and have the engine suddenly follow your new instruction. It's even cooler to be able to datalog the EEC and watch a whole screen of values updating in realtime. Most decent laptops with enough processor power can update the screen at about 50ms. I've datalogged as low as 20ms, but that beats the PC up pretty bad since the host software I use is based on .NET. The .NET framework really isn't designed for realtime tasks that need that kind of speed. There's even a few guys running those cheap little Netbooks with the Intel Atom processor and getting decent update rates. And those little laptops are so light...far more convenient than the 6 year old brick I lug around.

Yes MalcolmV8, that was with my 1994 F150 long box 5.0 L automatic, few engins mods and 125 shot Dry helps, lol. I will post my web page and you can see some videos and how the Truck started and where I am going with it, I hope you enjoy it. I am going to purchase a LC-1 and the QH from Moates and learn to EEC tune my own Truck, also have purchased EB already and will purchase EEC Editor. So there will be a lot of questions when I get all the hardware.

Thanks,

Kirk

Don't bother with EEC Editor, get BinaryEditor (BE). It's more intuitive and far better to work with. If you plan to use EECTuning.org forums for help, the developer of BE, Clint Garrity (86GT) is a regular contributor on that site. His product support is unbelievable. The developer of EEC Editor, Paul Booth, is a nice guy, but he doesn't ever come over to the forums and support his product the way Clint does, although I've heard he does do a pretty good job supporting his stuff through email.

Also I maintain the 89-93 Mustang (GUFx) definition files for BE. IMO (and I am biased), they are the most completely supported strategies for DIY tuning using the Moates QH, Moates Chips, or TwEECer. Every single setting Ford put into the GUFx strategies are included. I've spent a huge amount of time over the past few years commenting the important stuff you need to know about. Much of the comments are directly from the Ford GUFB strategy document. Other comments are based on what the code is actually doing. And some of the comments are just my personal experience. The GUFx defs also have a very large number of "hacks" added to them that I don't believe any of the other strategies have.

Thanks cgrey8, but my catch code is BUG0 and I am using sailorbob's CBAZ0 strategy that I purchased so I do not believe your code is going to do a thing for me, but thanks and I will be reading everything that I can find on these pages, and I do have a purchased copy of BE.

No, unfortunately GUFx defs aren't going to do you any good with a CBAZ0 EEC. But it is good that you got sailorbob's def file for that strategy and BE. I may maintain the GUFx defs, but a MASSIVE amount of what makes up the GUFx defs is thanks to him. Even a lot of the details in the comments are a result of email conversations between he and I where I asked him detailed questions about the code. And to preserve that info, I put it directly into the defs...mainly so I wouldn't forget it. And I can't say enough good things about Clint, his software, and support of it. I just wish we could convince Paul Booth to dump his EEC Editor software and concentrate his talents where they would do the most good...developing def files for BE like sailorbob used to. If Clint and Paul worked together, I have no doubt that the BE/Quarterhorse combo would quickly put STKR (maker of the TwEECer) out of business.
