I don't think my radiator is an Explorer unit. I'm pretty sure it's just the V6 automatic radiator sometimes refered to as the super or extra cooling radiator.
What I did was go down to a discount radiator warehouse and have them go through their manuals till they found a radiator that would bolt right into my truck and cool a V8. What they gave me I'm pretty sure is a V6 auto Ranger radiator. They told me it was spec'd for cooling a V8 and cool it does. I've only put about 200 some miles on my truck because of my transmission problems but I did plenty of idling and putting along slowly trying to get the motor tuned and other stuff working. Cooling was just fine.
