Was that supposed to be a sealed bearing so the fluid doesn't transfer to the spud shaft housing? That might explain it if there's not supposed to be fluid on that side, but the fluid would still have to be coming through the housing somewhere to leak the way it does.

: How does the bearing cause the case to leak? I know that's somewhere around the right area, but I don't understand how that causes the leak. Fluid mysteriously shows up around the mount bolts, but I can't tell where it's coming from. It's dry all around there except on the bolts and those bolts don't go through the casing into the oil. I was wondering if maybe there's a defect in the casting???? If you know anything that might flick on a light bulb here, please don't hesitate to fill me in. Thanks for the input. If you get a chance, email me your phone numbers again. I lost my address book and I don't have your number any more. I'll try and call you one evening from work.

: : some time ago I called A&A to ask them about the leak They said it was the bearing that they give you with the Kit. It's the one on the adapter side between the adapter and transfer case. I have the bearing number I'll look it up and post it.
