I wonder if the guy did anything to the motor. The 1977 vintage motors must have been some of the lowest performance motors going. You could always pull that sucker out and put a good 5.0L HO in for a modest additional cost. What gears does he have. If they are 3.73:1 you will be reving high on the highway. Are the tires 14" or 15"?

: I purchased the book and was looking for a ranger to start on when i found an 86 model built by an older street rod guy for sale that is reg cab, 4x2, with 77 model 302 bored 30 over with c4 trans and 8" rear, it has bucket seats, custom grill, hood and tailgate, and a nice black pearl paint and looks a lot like "Kooka's" who I emailed this question to also...i can buy this truck for $3400, i feel like that is a good price but wanted to know from you guys who know exactly the time/cost involed if i should jump on this truck? any help/advice is appreciated.
