: You could look at the rear end. Is it a stock 7.5 inch rear or a 8.8 or 9" rear? The 7.5" is a little weak but OK if you don't use big tires and have a lot of power. The rear end gear ratio and tire size is important. I had a 7.5" with 3:73.1 and 14" tires. This meant that at 60 MPH I was spinning over 3000 RPM. I changed to 15" 28.5" tall tires and dropped my RPM some. A posi trac is important and not real common in the Rangers. I installed a locker type traction device called Protrac. Worked great and not too expensive.
