Registered Ranger
Multiple swappers have told me that traction is a real problem with V8 Rangers. I've been warned multiple times to make sure and have a limited slip RE. And believe me I plan to.
However I've also been warned about axle hop due to leaf spring wind-up. My truck currently has leafs that run over the (7.5") RE axles. To maintain the ride height, I don't forsee that changing with the 8.8". However your run-of-the-mill traction bars that you see sticking out under the body of a car right in front of the rear tires are made for under-spring mounting.
I'm assuming that they can be mounted ontop of the springs OR pointing backwards as well. Can anybody confirm that?
Overall, are ladder-bars that clamp directly to the differential casting a better solution or the only viable solution?
Any other solutions out there that others would recommend?
Chris
