Do you remember if the Explorer you pulled that RE out of was bashed in on one side as opposed to a frontal/rear impact? If it was, was it the side you are getting the wabble on?
Did the rims show obvious damage?
Were the tires busted off the rims?
These are the kinda questions I'd be thinking to myself to determine if it is that axle or not. However I'd still take the time to swap up the tires just to make sure it's not the rim.
Your whole experience has sacared me into thinking I'm worth the money to pay for all new parts as far as I can afford, not 2nd hand stuff. However at some point, I just don't have an endless supply of money. I've got to decide, what's safe to buy used and what isn't? I don't guess there's any easy answer to that one...
