As far as I can tell, the only difference between the 302 HOs and the non HOs was better parts (heads, cam, intakes, Throttle Body), differnet timing (thanks to a 351 roller cam) and some kind of mod to make the block accept roller-cams. I'm ASSUMING there is some kind of machining done around the lifters to make the roller-lifters work, since they need a bar to keep them from rotating around and rolling on the cam however I have NOT read that anywhere to confirm it.
Reason I ask is if I happen across a really good non-HO 5.0 donor car, what exactly is involved in getting it to accept a roller-cam?
Will I need a new computer that is Mass Airflow based, not Speed Density Based as many of the non-HOs were or will the computer recongize the Mass Airflow connection and begin working as a Mass Airflow Computer?
Chris
