I don't think there is supposed to be any play there Malcolm. Are you sure you put in all the spacers that belong there before you put that last snap ring on? If that gear is moving, I'd guess that's where your problem is.

: Everything in there is tight except the 5th drive gear. I honestly have no idea if this is normal or not but here's what play it does have.
